The MMMe8 team, composed of Martin Breskvar, Dear Kocev, Jurica Levatić, Aljaz Osojnik, Matej Petković, Nikola Simidjievski and Bernard Ženko, from the Department of Knowledge Technologies (E8) won the first competition in data mining organized by the European Space Agency (ESA). The task was to predict the electricity consumption of the Mars Express spacecraft, based on its past operation data. The results could help extending the life of the spacecraft, which orbits Mars since 2003.
