The Slovenian Artificial Intelligence Factory (SLAIF) officially launched on 1 September 2025. This three-year project, co-financed by the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking and the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, aims to strengthen Slovenia’s AI ecosystem by connecting expertise in high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence. SLAIF provides a unified hub where research, infrastructure, and services come together to support businesses, researchers, and public institutions.
The project consortium includes the Jožef Stefan Institute, IZUM, ARNES, the University of Ljubljana, University of Maribor, University of Primorska, University of Nova Gorica, the Faculty of Information Studies Novo Mesto, the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce, and Technology Park Ljubljana. Together, they deliver access to advanced AI infrastructure, data, and expertise while supporting the use of AI across sectors such as green energy, healthcare, smart agriculture, digital society, and scientific research.
